1.) Ram for almost all laptops can be upgraded to a higher capacity than what the laptop is sold with originally. So Yes you can get more RAM sort of speak for this and really for just about any PC /Laptop that Best Buy offers. 2.) "More Slots" This is a tad bit confusing but I think I know what you meant and I believe I answered that above. - the number of slots in a laptop due to limited space is usually less than a Desktop PC. Limited to usually 2. Every Laptop is different. 12 to 16 Gigs is more than enough. Literally with 8 GB you are still ahead of the curve.
