If you want to print completely wireless, you cannot connect the network cable to the printer (it will deactivate some features -- however, likewise, when you use wireless, some other features don't work either!!! That is truly a bummer because then what's the use of not being able to use ALL the functionality that you pay for!). You have to use the wireless setup from the printer directly to search and connect to the same wireless network as your computer or other devices. For HP's eprint service (out of network/via email etc) you just sign up with HP to set up/register your device (the documentation to this comes with the printer). With that ePrint address, you can send print jobs to your printer when you are away from the printer. I chose to use this printer wireless....
