“Does this printer 'go to sleep' and then not immediately print a requested item from my iPhone? In other words, I send something from my iPhone to print, but since the printer is in a sleep mode, it won't independently wake up and print my request?”

we print wirelessly from all our phones and tablets to this printer. It starts right up when we send. We have both Apple and Samsung products in our house and they both work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can set the "awake" function so it stays awake as long as needed. It should respond to your iPhone print request by waking up when you send to print. Not sure why this isn't happening if that is the problem.
