• No. A LAN (Local Area Network) requires a simple cable, then for you to join the network.

• NO. JUST CONNECT A WIRELESS ROUTER TO YOUR EXISTING PROVIDER, EITHER CABLE OR DSL AND CONECT TO IT.

• If by LAN you mean a home network with internet access, then yes, you will need to contact a local internet provider to request internet-only access (unless you want the added cost of cable tv).
