It depends on the level of word processing. The computer comes with basic document creation software, but not office. So she can write letters and basic reports for school.

I don't know if it came with a full word processing program, if it did, I immediately uninstalled it in favor of the free word processing and office suite from open office dot org.

No, there is not a word processing installed on the laptop.

Yes. I recommend Office 365 (9.95/month, but you can install on up to 5 machines and you’ll always have the latest edition), but there are plenty free options out there that will work just fine (OpenOffice, Google Docs, etc.)

No I actually had to buy the office package program from Best Buy's
