Yes, for sure!! I am a senior in college and have had two HP laptops since 10th grade when I started dual-enrollment through the local college. HP is the simplest system in my opinion. I just purchased this laptop over Christmas for my sister beginning dual-enrollment and was very pleased with the performance the few days I played on it.
