Not sure what MAC version you have, however, my desktop (Win7) is not wireless as well. I have it directly connected to the router. The printer is wireless and the online drivers installed without any issues. The printer shows up as my primary printer. I would suggest you browse the HP site for the latest MAC drivers/Software. Good luck.

If not: Go to the www.hp.com and select "support" and "download drivers" Type "photosmart 6520" into the box and search. Select the first link at the bottom of the page that reads "HP Photosmart 6520 e-All-in-One Printer" Then select your operating system from the drop down menu and push "next" (If unsure of your Mac operating system, click the Apple icon in the top left corner and select "About this Mac") Expand the + sign next to "Driver - Product Installation Software" and click "Download" Download and install the software If you have already done all of this, check if there is an update though the HP Printer Control application that should have been installed with the driver.
