yes, the yellow cable connects to the back of the modem and the router. the power plug goes from the modem into the surge protector, a surge protector is recommended. you have to setup ypur WiFi password on your windows ops on your compute, the password should be on the back of the router. go to the lower right hand corner of your computer and click on the globe or little satellite icon. proceed to follow the prompts after getting the password from the router. you should be able to setup your computer from there.
