• Yes, the screen is digitized. The Best Buy sales person did not know this. You can not use any stylus...it must be able to work with a digitized screen. Writing is more accurate than the ipad as the ipad does not have a digitized screen. I have the hp pen, but my daughter has the dell and is does seem to work a little better...it is thinner and not as bulky.

• You should be able to use a stylus to write or draw. Some people have suggested using the one from Dell instead of HP. I don't believe the writing or drawing is as precise as the MS Surface Book or Ipad Pro since those devices have software on the display to work with the stylus as compared to the HP Spectre.
