The Mate 9 system is designed with status bar notifications which can automatically recognize message content and provide shortcut operation keys where it doesn't affect the current operations. This is more convenient than pop-up notifications, which have been canceled for messages. If you want to turn off the status bar notifications, go to > Notification & status bar > Notifications management, select the app, and then turn off the Status bar switch. You do not need to unlock your device to see your text or email messages. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I can custom set my notification setting on the phone by individual apps. You can change the setting such that you can make the phone hide or display the text message as per your requirements. The red dot thing doesn't seem to be true.
