“The screen is not always on right? Only when reversing? Also does it provide guidelines? If the screen does turn off, how is the quality of the screen that turns into a mirror, or the entire mirror in general?”

• The camera comes on when in reverse and it does have guidelines and I can see well out of it depending on the glare during the day

• The screen only turns on when it detects a video input. So, if installed correctly, your camera will only get power when shifted into reverse - turning the screen on and then back off when you shift out of reverse. I believe the guidelines come from the camera, I used a matching iBEAM brand camera which does have guidelines for distance.
