QuestionI had not paid attention really...but recently noticed that the light on the front of my ibi flashes...is it supposed to do that or be steady on? I had thought at first it was steady on.

- Answer I’m using it as a personal cloud backup currently. Once you download the software your pc recognizes it as another drive. So you can save pdf’s or anything you want on there.

QuestionCan ibi extract photos and vides that may be backed up on iCloud or Google Photos to consolidate them in one place?

- Answer If you photos are on and iPhone it will get from iCloud. Not sure of google but I believe it can. The movement of late amounts of photo dat can take time. Mine took 2 days to download through prone and the IBI on the phone and only copied when I was on wifi to save cell data.

QuestionCan I create private albums that only I can view? Can I password protect an album?

- Answer Yes. You have the choice to create albums that are private or to share. I'm new to ibi. I think you can password protect your photos. The first ibi I purchased did not work. I had no trouble exchanging it. The second unit has had a problem loading an album; In fact, the little whirling circle wont stop spinning. I contacted the troubleshooting folks, who told me there is no way to cancel an album. NOT a good feature to leave out! The album that won't load does not stop me from creating more new albums, but it bothers me that there is a malfunction of some sort. I'd think about it if I were you.

- Answer Yes -- using the desktop ibi app, you can mount the ibi to your desktop and upload and download files just as you would to an internal or an attached drive. Those files are then accessible via the Mobile App as well (click the "hamburger menu" (three stacked lines) in the upper left corner, then click "Files & folders"). QuestionHas anyone used this to plug into a desktop computer to download a photo without using the application? I want to know if it can function like an external hard drive if needed without WiFi to take the photos out individually or per album, Etc.

- Answer According to the SanDisk Support site: no, you cannot connect an ibi for direct access to a PC or Mac. From my research, there seems to be no workaround, hack or jailbreak to allow this either -- you must rely solely on the SanDisk servers (using their desktop, web or mobile software) as an "intermediary" between a devices and the ibi. - Answer Yes. You must have wifi. IBI plugs into a wall socket. You are advised not to use a power strip. It does not plug into a computer.

- Answer Not directly to a computer monitor, no. I would suggest referencing the ibi "Do More" area to see additional information available for using the SanDisk ibi apps written for AppleTV, Fire TV and Roku to play images directly to your television. Screenshot below is from the iOS app.

- Answer Yes, firmware version 7.14.0-130 should support storing AND playing music files stored on your ibi.
