Hi CuriousLlama, To answer your question, it is a combination of both CPU and GPU that is needed to run games. It all depends on certain games for how stressed/intensive the cpu or gpu will need to be ran at in order for it to be played at max settings. If you are still uncertain about buying this system, a great alternative for a better CPU and more storage that I would recommend is a BB931 or a BB770.
