Q: QuestionI received a white Insignia compact microwave for Christmas. I just heated up a small casserole in it, and there now appears to be condensation, or something inside the door. After about 20 minutes it is still there, covering about half of the window.

• A:Answer Pending the products I microwave there can be condensation. An uncovered frozen product/a high fat product also not covered with a paper towel etc.

Q: QuestionI've been using this since July, and it was working fine until yesterday. This morning when I opened the door to use it, suddenly the power went off. I tried plugging out and back in, used another power cord, etc but it's not powering back on again.

• A:Answer You said above that you plugged it in using another power cord-was this an extension cord? If so, perhaps the extension cord was defective or was "overloaded". I have only plugged my microwave directly into a 3 prong wall socket that would support the power needed to operate the microwave.

• A:Answer a frozen bag of pre-cooked rice should not take 10 min to microwave trader Joe's frozen rice takes 4 1/2 min sounds like the overheating occurred because the product was microwaved too long. you need to be careful & follow directions on cooking times & heat settings for each type of product you warm/heat/cook. plastic bags/containers & food products can melt or burn and can cause fires if over microwaved the booklet that came with device gives guidelines for use and products you purchase should have instructions on how to heat/warm /cook

Q: QuestionMy brand new Compact runs as soon as I plug it in and I can NOT shut it off at all. I can only shut it off by unplugging it. I have not tried to cook anything in it, because this is a little nerve-racking. Am I missing something?

• A:Answer It sounds like there's something wrong with it. The only way I can think to check is to push the cancel button as soon as you plug it in. If that doesn't stop it, then return it if you still can.
