- Answer If you are using the TV as the tuner, being that you are plugged in directly with a coaxial cable from the cable company or a satellite, then the remote it came with will work, if you are using a cable box, say from Comcast, then you need to use the cable box's remote to control channels

- Answer Yes, it must have an HDMI adapter for it to work, otherwise have a converter from HDMI to VGA.
