QuestionI bought the insignia 10,000 BTU portable air conditioner and I removed the plug from the drain tank And put a drain hose on it that runs to a jug So the water will automatically drain but the air-conditioner is still blowing water out the front , why?

QuestionI bought this ac last summer and I don’t use it that often, tonight I turn it on and the air that comes out is barely cool. It’s nothing compared to the other times I’ve turned it on. What should I do? I am not a happy customer right now.

QuestionWhen It's running in dry mode the temperature keeps dropping ( colder) is this normal? It wont let me select speed or temperature manually.

- Answer Do you use the exhaust vent when running on dry? I'd like to use this feature over the winter and was wondering if I needed to reinstall it. Thanks!

QuestionWhen we have it on Cold AC, after 45 minutes the unit will shake and automatically switch to fan on its own. It does not stay on the cool AC feature anymore. We had the AC for over a month and just drained it with a siphon. Please help.

QuestionWhen I turn on the AC after a few minutes it starts to shake and then blows my extension cord. If I switch the cord on it starts up. But if I only run the fan I have no problem. Is this a compressor problem and how to fix.

- Answer The first problem you are likely having is; you really aren't supposed to use these with an extension cord. However, that being said, I use mine at work with an extension but I always make sure to use the shortest cord possible with the heaviest gauge. Try switching from say a 50 foot 16 gauge cord to a 25 foot 12 or 14 gauge cord.

- Answer You can put it running vertically instead of horizontal and it should fit my window i have it on is 12 inches across but i put it vertically and it works perfect.
