Will this double as a flash diffuser? null

I don't think so. While the material is pretty thin, the fact it's double-sided, each with a different reflective material, it would not allow the majority of light to penetrate through. If anything it would likely reflect the flash behind the camera and possibly create a shadow on the subject.
