You have to maintain the product by cleaning the tank every few weeks to prevent growth of mold, mildew, and bacteria. The air filter should be cleaned after 250 hours of use or 30 days. QuestionHow close does the humidity have to be to the comfort level before it triggers the auto shut-off? My scenario is that my comfort level was set at 50 and it shut off at 53 with no timer set, the bucket was not full, and with a clean filter.

- Answer I have noticed it is very close to the setting. So, after a few minutes if the humidity goes up just a percent or 2 it comes right back on again. Because I live near the coast, where it is damp, if I use a setting, it shuts on and off every few minutes once it reaches the setting, constantly making a lot of noise, so I use the continuous setting and simply shut if off when it is not needed. They need to have a high and low setting so there is some time before it comes right back on again.
