A:Answer Yes, I do this with all of my major appliance purchases. The biggest drawback is remembering, keeping track of the ending warranty date. Best to place piece of masking tape on back of appliance, with purchase date and warranty expiration date. Now, you just have to "remember" to look at the tape once in a while.
