“On my ps4 I use one usb slot for my Hard Drive and the other for my old usb hub but the connection on my headset and controller disconnects every 5 minutes while connected to the hub. Will this usb hub be any better or will it give me issues?”

Probly wont fix anything. Better off just hacking the ps4 and get a lot more use out of it
