A regular TV just allows you to hook up to the cable or satellite to view your channels or you can buy a digital converter box with antenna to see the channels for free. A SMART TV allows you to do a lot more. In addition to doing what the regular TV does. It allows you to stream channels wirelessly. It has WifI and some have bluetooth connectivity. This particular TV does not have bluetooth, but wirelessly you can connect you portable devices if it has compatible software or you can use HDMI cords to connect with wires. Basically, it is almost an oversize tablet if it has the correct software and hookup. The more features your SMART TV has might mean you have to pay a higher purchase price for it. Hope that helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Regular tv has no apps (Netflix, Hulu, etc).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A regular TV lacks the functions that being connected to the internet offers. These include mainstream services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Pandora and others. A "Roku box" provides these services as well as a seperate, stand alone device. Not ALL services are offered by all manufacturers / models. Make SURE the services you use are available on the device (whether stand alone or built in to a Smart TV) are available.
