We actually experienced this problem with the first Insignia television that we purchased. However, it only seemed to happen when we watched TV through the cable box. Otherwise, the sound quality was good through the game consoles, Blu-ray player, etc. You may want to try disconnecting your cable box, reconnecting it to the television, and resetting your cable channels on the television.
