Looks good, sounds good, and easy to operate. It was just an extra tv for me, but I'm glad I got it.

Didn't expect much in terms of sound but its good

As you most likely know: Flat screen TV's aren't known for their sound quality and most TV's will get a bad rating on sound. Used to own a Sceptre 32" LED that was replaced with this one. The sound was so bad that I had an amplifier connected to the TV for sound. This 42" was supposed to get connected to the amplifier for better sound quality as well. There are lots of noise distractions in the living room: Baby, dog, gas fireplace, train across the railroad tracks, high winds etc... You name and its there. Sound volume was pleasantly LOUD. There isn't any bass per se, but the speakers are able to cut through all the noise projected in the room. Came here to mainly review the sound quality since that was a lot better than expected. I believe the specs mentioned a 6W speaker setup. Otherwise: Picture is nice as 1080p or 1080i Glare reflection when the sun is hitting it Nice option to custom name the inputs to whatever you choose and not be strapped to predefined labels I do not like how you have to wait when choosing an input with the tactile buttons on the front of the tv. There is no "enter" once an input is selected. You have to wait for it to auto switch. That is my only complaint.

My flat screen for my living room broke and I originally bought an RCA to replace it only to find out that it didn't have a digital tuner so I couldn't get all my cable channels. So I went to bestbuy.com so I could review specs for all TVs and insure I bought one that had what I needed. This model was the right size and price and had everything I needed (plus the perks of being able to add the Roku stick, Chromecast, etc) that I might want to add in the future. I have had it for about a month and have had no issues. I use the settings to adjust the picture and sound the way I like it.

This TV met all my expectations: good price, good picture, good audio, good size, easy to move from one place to another despite being a 42". It was the right choice for me. I will go back to Best Buy for sure for other great deals.

Once again BestBuy you have offered a terrific product at an unbeatable price! After I redeemed my BestBuy points on top of the price it was almost a steal for this size TV. Insignia is a wonderful brand and has lived up to its name. We have many Insignia products in our house and have had zero problems with them. The picture is great on a TV this large, the buttons run along the front of the TV so they are easy to see if you ever lose the remote and have to resort to the old fashioned way of turning the volume up/down or on/off. It is light weight and a breeze to install.

This is my 2nd Insignia TV it has great pictures and sound while the size is perfect. Not too heavy at all for a 42" and fits great in my man cave.

For the price a good buy. Decent contrast, picture looks bright. Price was really reasonable. Hooked up easily. No smart features but none needed. The main negative thing is that most of the buttons on the remote don't work but I did not feel like returning it just for that. We use Dish network universal remote anyways so not too big an issue.

The television has good quality for what it is. When putting it together, the feet are problematic with the screws that they give you to secure to the tv. If you mount it, you should not have the problem of stripping the heads of the screws. All in all though, decent value and easy to set things up with the hdmi and cables.

Bought this TV for the bedroom. Setup was fairly simple. With a few adjustments to the picture (custom setting - I remove the color before adjusting the brightness, contrast, etc. Then I adjust the color to my liking), it look as good as anything else I looked at. The picture is easy on the eyes and overall a good purchase. I would buy it again.

This television is almost everything we expected it to be. Very simple to set up, beautiful picture, and easy to operate. The only issue we had was hooking up the TV Ears to this unit, as this TV does not have the same hook-ups as the old ones. Best Buy employees had no solution, so in desperation I called the TV Ears place. The person there told me how to hook it up, and fortunately I had the required jack to do this, so now the TV Ears work. The only issue now is that in order for the sound to be audible to both headset-wearers and non-wearers at the same time is that one would have to purchase and (easily) install 2 relatively inexpensive parts. It took a couple days, but we now can switch from VCR to television without changing the mode. After we got brought into the current era and comfortable with the new style of equipment, we are totally happy.

If I recall, I bought this on sale and it is a nice tv. I both like and dislike the stand. It sits low on 2 short feet rather than a single stand. Where this is awesome for stability and is nice visually, you definitely need a wide enough piece of furniture to set it if you don't hang it up. But this isnt a big deal if you have the space to put it :) the sound is nice too.

Great value for the money. Actually I should say - excellent value. Beautiful colors, sharpness, sound etc. Very happy. Paid a fortune for my husband's Sharp for our living room. Let it stay there. I won't watch it since I feel I have far superior picture. I have to say that my husband actually agrees with me on that one. Super pleased.

I am using this as a computer monitor in lieu of running dual monitors. The ease of set up is much easier and I enjoy being able to watch a video on the big screen. However, I wish I could go to a much deeper resolution to simulate having 2-4 monitors and really blow up a spreadsheet. The resolution doesn't allow me to really get into the detail level I had hoped to.

This is our second Insignia television. I purchased this television after our sons had a gaming incident with our last Insignia television. It's a great television for the price. The picture quality is great and the sound quality is good. It is easy to set up and use. I would definitely recommend this television for anyone looking for a economical buy.

The picture quality is excellent. It was easy to set up, the connectors were placed logically and are easy to access. All the frequently used controls are available on the remote with a single touch. The input select feature is very intuitive. But the operation of the power switch is a bit hit or miss.
