Here's the problem - there is NOTHING in the manual that shows you how to access the power cord. There's a large plastic cover and I was quite afraid of busting it. The "door" that needs to be pried opened MUST be opened on the side the arrow points to, and it is a smaller door that swings out from that right side (closest to the center of the freezer). So, don't try to pry the whole plastic panel off, just the small "door" at the bottom. It would have helped for the manufacturer to explain this!! The directions on the panel are not enough, given how difficult it is to pry the small panel open, SO difficult that I did not snap it back closed and left it slightly ajar. Otherwise, it's a sweet little freezer - hope it lasts!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There's actually a little plastic wedge they provide where you slide the narrower flat side while using it to also widen the opening until it opens. Would really have helped to mention it in the manual or make a better solution to stow the power cord.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's really difficult honestly but I had to use a butter knife and it worked.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Put some elbow grease in it. Use a flat head screwdriver and pry it open.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can open the plastic cover with a blade.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It takes a little elbow grease to open it. The real problem lies in the fact that you have to finagle it put it back on the right way, and then you lose a half foot of power cord length. Either that or I'm below average in intelligence, which shouldnt he taken out of the equation either.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. What a terrible design! I followed the comments from 3years ago. Levered it off from the right hand side with a putty knife but with still enough force to break it. Then the power chord has this weird wrap around the plastic gate so it does not come our properly. Hope someone at Insignia reads this!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Look for arrow. Pry open from right side of arrow. Cord is inside. Poor GE instructions - one would think a major corporation selling appliances could get this right.
