Both will hookup. seperate input channel choices as well. Needed equiptment HDMI cable for DVD and audio video 3 wire is what i would recomend. It does have the coax input but only one of them. If you have a HDMI output on VCR plenty of those inputs.

I have my Roku and tv and will connect a VCR to it soon. If your device is older, the tv has component capability. The component connect or is basically the "red, yellow, white" 3 connector variety.
