    • my brand new HP Envy didn't have a cable for a monitor - so I had to go back out to Best Buy on a Sunday night, buy this cable, and bring it home so I could get the computer working.rickinjanesville

It's a cable. As long as you have the proper ports it should work fine. I was using it to plug an old laptop with a bad monitor up to a new monitor so I could download what was on my desktop. For me, it wasn't plug-and-play. Should include a little more instruction on when/how to fire up the equipment attached to it. Almost took it back because my Geek Squad advisor via chat suggested (after we went through all the basics of unplugging/plugging, ports, F5 keys, etc.) maybe I had a bad cable. Turns out I didn't but plug-and-play doesn't work as straightforward as I would have liked. Had to plug both devices in cold. Fired both up at the same time, basically. Wait for both to load. Got frustrated, quit, made an appointment with Geek Squad and basically did the same thing except started cold, both plugged in and gave everything time to fire up. Worked fine. So, I kept the cable. I'll try again because I'm not that tech-illiterate that this shouldn't work for me but a little guidance up front would have helped. Would like to see if I can watch some Youtube videos on the TV using this method. SHOULD work....

This hdmi cable exceeds all expectations. Not only is it a cable but it has hdmi connectors on both ends. I would have been happy with one but both. Wow! I can’t wait to see whats next. Oh my... it actually connects between the blu ray and the tv. And whats this...when I play a blu ray on the blu ray player not only does the picture show up but also the sound. I don’t know if there is a better cable out there but this one has to be in the top. Well done insignia!!!

I bought this HDMI cable to watch movies and do homework on my big screen LG tv with both a Sony laptop and Surface tablet. It makes it easier on my neck and eyes by transferring the images and sound over to the TV. I have also used it to present PowerPoint presentations for school or slideshows of pictures for my family to see on a big screen instead of the laptop/tablet screen. Its long and flexible so its easy to use and plug in without stressing the connections on both the cable and laptop/tablet. It hasn't given me any trouble and seems like it's going to last me a long time.

An HDMI cable is an HDMI cable, essentially. If you start going with long cables, you can run into issues with computers or devices that output weaker than usual signals, and marginal quality HDMI cables cause problems then. But any properly assembled 6' HDMI cable should work fine. This one does. It's like twice the price you'd pay online for something similar though. I only bought this for convenience. I needed it the same day and didn't want to wait or shop around.

I like to work with 2 monitors extending the screen area to get more things done. After buying a Monitor I needed this HDMI to HDMI cable to connect my Laptop to it. HDMI cable allows HD and depending on the monitor capabilities I may have the sound being played by the Monitor or by the laptop as desired. The cable works well and does its mission.

Reviewing an HDMI cable sounds weird, but hey, why not? It's a great cable. The best cable. No one has cables like this cable. This cable is maybe the best cable in the history of cables! Very bigly indeed. But for real, it's an HDMI cable and it does it's job. Don't fall into the trap of high-priced fancy crap. For the average person, this is all you need.

Makes huge different in picture quality, if you are looking for 4k quality. Was not really sure when it was recommended to me, but without the proper 4k HDMI cable, your TV quality is just HD. You need to remember to keep the cable not too tightly together with power cables, for EMC being emitted from power cables does create quite an interference.

I didn't realize how much enjoyment we were missing out on by NOT using an HDMI cable to connect Blu-ray and PlayStation to our big screen TV. Insignia product was on sale, so I picked up two, and ... OMG!!! A totally new experience for the whole family to enjoy! Product is very nice (we recommend!); certainly worth a few bucks to get one (or two!) if you're not currently using HDMI to maximize your 720 or 1080 screen resolution.
