Unless the USB connection on the TV is such that the TV's mainboard can recognize a USB Ethernet adapter, it simply will not work. THink of it like the USB adapter on a set of headphones. Since there is not Ethernet processor code in the board to use a USB Ethernet device, it can recognize it. The reason they work in a computer is that a computer is built with that code in the mainboard. TVs don't operate the same way.

It's basically the same as trying to connect the USB Ethernet adapter to your car's USB input. In order for USB adapters of all sorts to work with a PC, the PC needs to have what they call a driver, which is a program specifically developed to let the PC know what to do whenever someone plugs that device into it. Most modern PCs have a lot of generic drivers pre-installed as part of their operating system. If it didn't have it, typically the PC would connect to the Internet and download the latest drivers for the device you're trying to use. The TV has it's own operating system. It's not Windows, it's not OS X, and it probably won't have the drivers that are required to identify and make proper use of your USB Ethernet adapter. And it probably won't ever have them. So don't even try to plug this or any other adapter to your TV like it is a computer. The USB port is intended for you to play media files like photos and videos in a USB flash drive. A workaround could be to have a computer (with the ethernet adapter plugged in) and project whatever you need to through HDMI.

I'd recommend that you rather purchase a MIMO router in order to get the best results on wifi for the tv. I personally can get 115 Mbps on mine over wifi from over 50 feet away from the router. Also less wires is always a plus, I hate when mine get all tangled! I have over 5 years of experience working in technology and I know this will resolve any internet issues you may be experiencing. An Ethernet cable is pointless with this product.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. When the engineers were designing the TV they chose to not include any of the software that would allow the TV to use adapters like that. Why they chose to do it this way could come down to many reasons and I cannot possibly speculate on what the exact reasoning is.
