Any idea what the screws are for? Also, the self adhesive pads? No directions in the box. null

The BASE (bottom ⅜”) twists OFF CW (clockwise) direction. Then you can screw or use stickie pads to mount or hold in place.

The bottom of the unit comes off. You can screw the base onto a wall or counter, then reattach the unit. 
The side of the box indicates the unit can be mounted.

selfadhesive I put on the bottom of tower and stuck to break table. I did not get additional screws but mine works great

screw the removable base to your desk and destroy the surface--mine stands without tbl- no screws/pad

I would imagine if you wanted to mount it to the wall or counter.

That’s a very good question especially since I never noticed those items. I’m going to take a leap and assume they are for some sort of wall mounting. I have mine sitting on my desk so the wall idea never came to mind. Seems like it would be too heavy for that especially with wires hanging from it.
