A:AnswerHmm. I looked up the Init at Staples and they do look similar. But the Init doesn’t seem to have the handle that the Insignia has which pulls up from the top when you want to empty the basket. I really like the handle; we had to replace our last shredder because the top part wouldn’t come off the basket
A:AnswerMake sure machine is not jammed. Only shred 3-3 psprts at a time. Have 3 of them and they always turn on. Make sure the head us seated properly in bucket
A:AnswerMake sure the outlet is working and the shredder is actually seated flat on top of the receptacle. It has a safety that will not allow it to run unless it is seated properly.
A:AnswerIf I understand your question correctly that would be reverse mode. It makes the shredder go backwards in case something gets stuck. It will not shred in that position. Push the switch all the way to the left for normal shredding. The green light will go on and it will operate when you put paper into it.
A:AnswerIt will eat through them like candy. Those are no problem for this shredder. Just keep in mind that this shredder only shreds one disc at a time.
