I read somewhere that the only way to overcome this is to take the selected picture, and alter/rotate it in Microsoft Paint and save it at as .bmp then back to a jpeg to alter its Metadata file.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.We had a lot of pictures that I took from my cellphone and uploaded on there and they showed up sideways. To fix this I just took the flash drive to my computer and rotated the pictures that showed up sideways in the file browser window so they were all right side up and then they all displayed correctly on the digital frame too.

The stand can be positioned so that the frame is in either landscape or portrait mode but in either mode the pictures will still display in the orientation in which they are saved.
