Yes, using the Sear/Sauté button. It defaults to a cooking time of 30 minutes, but you can end it early or press it again if more time was needed.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. I put water and the beans in the pot and start the cooker while I am getting the peppers, bacon, and the other ingredients ready. By the time I'm ready to put the lid on, the liquid in the pot is boiling. However, you might have to try hitting STOP and then doing SLOW COOK or RICE to get the temperature down a little. In other words, I don't know how to adjust the temperature down from vigorous boiling.
