“Locking mechanism crooked when turning from unlocked to locked position. Should it turn straight to locking position or does it wobble and go slightly upwards to lock? 'm trying to determine if I received a defective lid.”

I THINK THAT YOU ARE FORCING THE LID.... TAKE YOUR TIME AND LINE UP THE FRONT WITH THE FRONT.... IT SEEMS NOT TO FIT... BUT YOU HAVE TO PLAY A LITTLE BIT.... BUT IT SHOULD NOT BE TOO DIFFICULT

However, it does get quite stiff when the pressure cooker is being used. I don't think your unit is defective. By the way, I have cooked baby back ribs twice in the unit and they were amazing. I really enjoy that I can cook food quickly.
