A:AnswerThis acts more as a tuner. It will take antenna signals and act as a channel changer. You can input other signals but you would be better off upgrading your Directv box in my opinion.
A:AnswerThe box is not whats pulling in the channels so it does not matter where its place whatever is convenient for you. What you may want to try is to move the antenna up high away from any metal and if possible the most unblocked space... ie window face open space or a wall that is closest to exterior. Each time you move the antenna to a new location also run the scan on the box.
Sometimes you won’t have top move it too much.
Good luck

A:AnswerWell if you do not want to pay for cable. It will allow you to get your free local channels. Smart TV’s are great for use to access internet based apps i.e. hulu, Netflix.
A:AnswerYou may not need the convert box now since they made all stations transmit inHD if you have a smart TV. Same thing happened to me—and now I have the TV connected to antenna —did channel scan and all works great.
A:AnswerWill need to find an HDMI converter some are sold by bestbuy but not all the stores keep them in stock but can read reviews and order via bestbuy to deliver to your home.

A:AnswerI got over 50 channels in my room. Some are only audio channels. The picture quality is far better than the regular antenna picture quality. My friend uses the regular antenna and the different is very clear. My friend gets about 10 channels with his regular antenna.
