Q: QuestionTried to connect this from an xfinity DVR box (which no longer has a TOSLINK) through to my Denon. Need to know if this is HDCP compliant, I suspect it isn't, the xfinity box fails to transmit video and no audio extraction occurs through optical out.

• A:Answer No, this is an inline device - you can only hook up one output with this. Source device -> HDMI -> Extractor -> Monitor/TV, along with another output for the TOSLINK connector.

• A:Answer It breaks out the sound to RCA audio connections as left and right channels. However, it does not conver the HDM Video into a Composit Video (yellow RCA connector). If that is what you need to do, there are alternate devices at Best a buy that will do the job of converting HDMI into the older legacy connections.

• A:Answer I think you have to plug into an outlet but not 100% sure.............. I would suggest that if you do not have enough outlets that you buy a power surge strip for the extra outlets needed. With my set up I have audio extractor HDMI going to my TV and optical cable from audio extractor straight to my BOSE system which does not have an HDMI input. This set up allows me to use my BOSE system which is an older system. If you plug into the input your ROKU stick, you can send the video to your projector via HDMI and split out the sound from audio extractor to your speakers via "Optical cable"................ It gives you "Digital Sound" which is very crisp. Good luck!

• A:Answer Yes as long as you connect the optical out or 3.5mm jack out to an audio amp or headset or desktop speakers, etc... It will pass video thru Projector and audio will be waiting on the audio outs of the Extractor for you to plug into something.
