A:Answer Yes, if your phone only has 1 jack for the handset, then you have to replace your handset with this.
You can buy a splitter that turns the 1 jack into 2 jacks and then you'd have both plugged in at the same time, but when you answer the phone both the handset and headset would be active unless the splitter has a switch on it that would only make 1 jack active at a time.
If both the handset and headset are active together, the sound quality would suffer. So my suggestion would be to look for a splitter with a switch or unplug the headset when you're done using it and plug the handset back in.
There are also phones with 2 jacks on them, but buying one would probably be the most expensive solution.
I found a splitter in BestBuy but it doesn't have a switch. You'd have to look elsewhere if you want to use that solution.
I wasn't able to find a phone in BestBuy with 2 headset jacks (at least not as an advertised feature), so you'd have to look elsewhere if you want to use that solution.
