“Does this rotate? It looks like it only stands up in the landscape position from the ad pictures but a picture posted by a customer shows it standing in the portrait position, so I am wondering if it rotates?”

Not designed to stand in portrait, however, you can open the cover a full 360 degrees. You can stand it on end if you open it to 315 degrees, view only, if you tap it will most likely fall over.

It doesn't rotate, since it's place on the base at all times in order to be correctly and safely standing, otherwise it would not be charging
