A bridge is only required if you want to use it while you are not at home. If so you need a bridge. Apple TV 3 can be used as a bridge, although there are some limitations, namely with scenes and multiple users. More information can be found on the Apple Support page located at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207057
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It needs an ATV 4. An Apple TV 3 does not work for automation.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It needs a hub and works only with Apple Homekit. Your AppleTV 3 should be ok. I had very poor results with my Netgear Orbi mesh wifi and an Apple TV 4. Hope you get better results.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Insignia Garage Door Controller can function without a bridge locally while the iPhone is in the same network as the Insignia controller. To control the garage door remotely, view status and get notifications when away from home, an Apple hub (Apple TV, HomePod or an iPad setup as a hub) is needed. Your Apple TV 3rd generation can be used for this purpose if its firmware is updated to the latest supported version. You can read more about this at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207057
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No bridge required on your garage since the module connects directly to the contacts on your garage opener. Apple TV 3 does support homekit
