• I just finished hooking this up to my Genie 2028. Works great. Use the BWC connectors when hooking up (You'll see what I mean when you connect. There are two sets of red/black wires)

• According to Genie Web site, model 2028 uses a standard wall panel with 3 buttons as shown in below image (Lock, Light and Open/Close). There is no Learn button on this wall panel so if your wall panel matches this, it would be compatible.
