Has anyone tried to wire this into a gate opener? null

Yes. It works with gto pro systems. Just wire into the system as a switch and hang the sensor over the swing arm so the arm pushes it horizontal as it passes it on the open and drops it down in the close.

I don’t think you can There is a mechanical switch on the unit that attaches to the garage so when it rips upside down, that tells the unit that it’s opened

Haven’t tried it but it should work as a remote switch. The open or closed indicator wouldn’t tell you anything unless you could rig something up to go from vertical to horizontal when the gate closes
