• This connects to the wiring where a wall switch connects. If your door opener doesn’t have that option then this would not work.

• The opener needs to have a connection for a wall type switch which the contoller wires to. So check your opener.

• Check your opener compatibility here: https://connect.bestbuy.com/gdc/gdc-compatibility.html . If it is compatible, then the answer is yes (chances are that the opener can also be wired for a wall switch too). On my Craftsman opener, it is wired in in parallel with my wall switch.
