“All of my plugs stopped working with my echo dot. They also stopped responding to the Insignia app. The lights do not stop blinking after performing a factory reset. I have a feeling that an update was realesed by Insignia and screwed everything up.”

I hope you've figured it out by now, but it was caused by maintenance. Your app should have updated by now and they need to be re-added.
