You can definitely cook hot pot style dishes with the lid off using the Sauté function, it's like cooking with a pot on the stove. Hope this helps!

Yes, it’ll still heat itself constantly when you don’t put the lid on. But heating speed is very slow when the lid is off. I don’t think you can eat hop pot on this thing.
