• Yes, same thing here. Does not really grip well I have RAV4 too. It fell one time while I was driving. I only use this when using phone map for direction when driving to unfamiliar places.

• You can change the direction of the piece that attaches to the vent. Should work with just about any vent.

• I am using it in a 2020 Chevy Colorado with vertical slots also. For best visibility I had to place it at the top of the vent and it worked perfectly. Placed it tight against the vent and tighten it.
