Yes to both questions. You will probably want to pause it while doing the large area to wash the cloth and be sure you have enough water. I am not sure that the battery will last long enough to do all of the areas at once. I do all my floors over two or more days. I set it in an area one day, then charge it over night and do another area the next day or so. This works well for me.

I dont always need to mop the entire kitchen, dining and living room so I have to find ways to confine it to only the area I want mopped. This is my only complaint about it.

I have an open kitchen & dining room I refill it 2 x and I move the controller box 1 time so it goes into my laundry room and bathroom. It makes its way all around. Depending on the size of the rooms will depends if it will do all before recharging. I have never had to recharge in between rooms. I can do my kitchen, dining room, bathroom, laundry room, pantry, and office all with one charge.
