• A:Answer The i7 and s9 both map your floors without a computer. You will need a smart phone or tablet to identify room labels, zones and boundaries. You will also need a smartphone or tablet to kick off the cleaning jobs.

• A:Answer You can absolutely use more than one Clean Base with your Roomba if you'd like one on each floor. Keep in mind you can also let Roomba clean on the level without a Clean Base, then transport just the robot to the floor with the base and send it home to auto-empty.

• A:Answer The Clean Base only works with the i7 robot. If you buy the Roomba and Clean Base together (i7+) you're good to go. If you buy the i7 robot on its own and decide you want to buy the base later, you'll get a new bin to allow the i7 to use the dirt disposal unit. The other Roombas don't have the bin port for the Clean Base unit or the engineering for the automatic disposal, so unfortunately aren't compatible.

Q: QuestionSince this one does not work with the 960, is there a clean base automatic dirt disposal that will work with 960 Irobot vacuum?

• A:Answer Currently, the i7 is the only Roomba that works with a Clean Base. This is because the automatic dirt disposal requires a port on the underside of the robot in order to suction, as well as in-robot coding to allow for this behavior. iRobot does make this clear in all messaging to try to avoid confusion, but know that new technology and step-up products take some adjustment.
