“The specs say that this supports 11 monitors. How would that work? I only see three or four connectors that support monitors.”

The Mini Dock will only support (1) HDMI display, will not support 11. Unfortunately, it seems the specifications are incorrect. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Cordially, j5.
