Hey JD, You may indeed use them separately from one and other. All you need to do is put them back in the case, remove the jlab listing from your Bluetooth device menu. Next, remove just the left from the case and put it into a pairing mode. Select the jlab listing in your Bluetooth menu and your set. Please note that when you remove the right one, it will automatically resume its role as the dominant bud. When you get a chance please reach out to us either via email [email protected] or shoot us a call at 405.445.7219 Monday-Thursday between 8am-5pm p.t & Friday 8am-3pm p.t if we can provide more detail. Thanks, JLab Audio #FINDYOURGO

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No One reason why I returned mine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was able to use the right earbud independently, but not the left earbud. In order to do this I would have to power on both earbuds, then I could leave the left earbud and walk away. If you walk away from the right earbud then they lose a connection from my phone. It seems like the right earbud makes the connection to the phone and then the left earbud connects to the right earbud.
