I found you can do that unless you adjust the bolts to the tv . so I have mind permanently tilting down ever so slightly. I have not played with it to see if you loosen the screws if it allows you to tilt the tv when needed . my installer did no recommend that.

I used the original spacers that came with the TV, and used the M8x50mm bolts and 5mm spacers from the mount kit to make it work. Reference your Samsung manual for details on wall mounting - it should contain important information like allowable bolt lengths.

Otherwise it is a good mount. it moves out and back from the wall easily. However, I am a small person, and I needed another person to help me move it out and back. The installers said that it should be adjusted / moved with hands on both sides of the tv. for safety. That would be a problem created by the tv not the mount.
