QuestionWHAT IS THE CUT OUT SIZE FOR THESE SPEAKERS... THE HOLE I CURRENTLY HAVE IS 5 1/4" DIAMETER AND NEED TO KNOW IF THIS WILL OR WILL NOT FIT IN THE HOLE I HAVE IN MY R.V. THERE IS NO WAY IT CAN BE 2.44 INCHES FOR A 6 1/2" SPEAKER

- Answer They should fit just fine. I just installed four of these on my boat in August. If I recall, the instructions say the hole needs to be 5.5" but my holes were only 5". I bought these speakers as I liked the price and it had good reviews. I was ready to cut the holes to fit, but these speakers fit the 5" holes with no modification. They are snug, but they fit.

- Answer two way means it has a woofer and a tweeter. Three way would add a Mid range speaker.

QuestionHow far do these extend past the front of the dashboard? If the overall length is 4.4" and the back only sits back 2.4" this means they extend 2" out +/-? I find this hard to believe. Steve

QuestionDo the grills come off these speakers, I need to mount them behind the side panels that’s how the old 6.5” speakers are in my boat

- Answer Yes they do come off. You have to twist the grill a quarter turn the right or left and they come off. These speakers are very stout in their design. What I mean is that they have a very thick case and body. Ia m not sure how these would look mounted behind a panel with just the surface grill showing. In my case the speaker sits in the opening with the lip or rim of the speaker resting on the surface of the panel. The mounting screws then go into the surface panel. In fact he speakers in cars are setups the same way. If you have access to the front and back of the panel you are mounting the speakers these speakers will still work but you will need to purchase some stainless steel bolts/nuts to mount them as these only come with screws. The speakers are very ruggedly built and sound great so you will be happy with them. I purchased these to replace my outside surface mounted camper speakers.

- Answer I did not put my speakers in my boat but had the marine where I bought the boat put them in. I can tell you that the template on the box the KFC-1653MRW speakers came in calls for a 5-1/2 “ hole

- Answer I already installed mine but I used these to replace 6.5” round speakers that went bad in my RV And they fit in the same holes. In general a 5” hole saw makes a perfect size hole to mont 6.5” round speakers.
