A:Answer Nope. No wifi. Purely usb only for car play and android auto.
I’ve looked into options for adding a wireless carplay adapters but decided against it as these adapters could be rendered obsolete if apple, for instance, decided not to allow 3rd party car play adapters. The same goes for wifi or miracast adapters. Not worth my money to buy these and get iffy results on top of that. I just ordered a strong durable usb “Data Capable” cable and plug it in when i want this functionality. I’d thought it would be a hassle but turns out, not too big of a deal and besides, it charges your phone too and time to load carplay is quicker then it would be with a wireless/wifi solution.
There isn’t an hdmi either. So if you wanted to go that route, and wanted like chromecast, you could get a miraplay wifi repeater device, the kenwood a/v cable, and plug the chromecast into it (may need an hdmi converter to a/v cable converter) . But to me, that’s a lot of wires and plugs to route and power. Stick with the basic radio functions. Get yourself a maestro rr. It will make your life easier. Or splurge for the wifi capable units. Would cost you the same to upgrade this radio to do the same as those.
